A Day With My Memories

"I enjoy, occasionally, a day with my memories -- these paintings hanging on the walls of my mind."

"One way to meet new people is to listen more carefully to the people you see every day."

"It's important to express one's feelings, especially feelings like sympathy and gratitude that exist only in their expression."

"Shall I regret having had a dream that never came true?  No, no more than I would regret having had a lifelong friend who died."

"Occasionally it's good to challenge the likelihood that you were born into a world where nothing is any of your business."

"You need a friend who won't lie to you.  I mean, besides a friend who will."

"Meanwhile, my lawyer has advised against pleading temporary insanity, given the lack of evidence that it's temporary."

  1. If you don't keep publishing, in book form, all of your genius thoughts...please at least share them with us here! My favorites are the first one, and the last two! :)

  2. Becky, I thought I heard footsteps in my archives. Welcome, old friend. Gosh, it's dark and lonely in here.

    1. Awww....I'm glad you heard my footsteps! And I know the "dark and lonely in here" feeling, too. Bloggin' just ain't what it used to be. And I'm a big offender, myself....

  3. LOVE the fourth about a dream that never came true -- and never ever regretting a lifelong friend who died. I'm thinking of my dad today -- he's still with us, but it won't be long before he isn't. I will always be grateful for him -- and I will miss him every day. You (as always -- every single time!) put it perfectly. xo

    1. Please pardon the very long delay in responding, Jan. This one got away from me. You are one of the friends I give thanks for this Thanksgiving Day.

  4. Thanks for your inspiration. The further I go down this road called life, the more I need to look at things for their value, things being happenings, hopefuls, and other helps. I, like most others drawn by society's things got lost on the importance of perspective. Your thoughts help a great deal. Thank you.
