How precious are the little ways
That keep the romance in our days,

The unexpected small caress,
The playful act of tenderness,

The gentle taking of a hand
To softly say, "I understand,"

The little now-and-then surprise
That so enlivens tired eyes,

The glance that shines with quiet pride,

The hug that says, "I know you tried,"

The sweetly reaffirming bliss
of always parting with a kiss.
