Monday Musings #4
Perhaps you cannot make anyone's thankless task less difficult, but you can always make it less thankless.
To let no one ever know of your vulnerabilities is to let no one ever know of your courage.
Often, when we think of our journey to happiness, we think of the one-way trip we took to find it -- and of all the round-trips we've taken to keep it.
If man can create artificial intelligence, then God can, too, and, in fact, there is a well-known description of how He once did.
It is not the meaning of life we seek. Life is getting the kids off to school and the dog fed. It is the meaning of meaning we seek.

A life of hope and optimism may sometimes disappoint, but of all lives that disappoint, it is the one I would choose.
The trouble with self-love is that it doesn't last, and it's the devil to go your separate ways.
It's a good friend who always knows the right words to leave unsaid.
He was a sad and lonesome clown,
And she was the circus that came to town.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but some folks seem hellbent on finding out how many wrongs will.
I know enough about reality to know that people who say, "The reality is..." don't know, either.
It's a sad lament -- the happiness you might have found if you had taken the path that still lies right there in front of you.

A question likely to be heard on Judgment Day: "You did WHAT in My name?"
Politics is always about what to do when the right thing to do is a non-starter.
A question I would ask a young person, "If you aren't planning to disturb the status quo, what exactly do you plan to disturb?"
Nothing spurs achievement like having someone in your life to astonish by it.
It is rare to find a successful marriage that failed as a test of friendship.
It is a bit too late, after you say "I love you," to start parsing out the promises not included.

Even the longest and happiest marriage can use an occasional confirmed love sighting.
It is a persistent daily challenge -- trying to change your life for the better without changing it.
One thing certain about anyone you think has had an easy life is that they are not personally aware of it.
Never be discouraged by people who don't know what you're about to accomplish.
You wonder -- if God had created Eve first, would the need for a helpmate have been quite so obvious?
Who would not travel back in time and do the right thing -- unless, of course, it were possible.
How do you know it's your own funeral? One way to tell is that you're the only person there properly dressed for the occasion.
