Monday Musings #10

It is possible to disagree without being disagreeable, assuming you have another reason to disagree.




The problem with having a friendly debate is that it can lead to some very objectionable people thinking they're your friends.


When asked, "Do you believe in miracles?" a person of faith replied, "I believe in God.  It is the atheist who must believe in miracles."


You can wait for a miracle, but a better strategy is to meet it halfway.


The hardest unhappiness to uproot from our lives is that for which we are holding a paid receipt.


One thing you need never fear in a democracy is ignorance without representation.


Do things while you can and while they matter to you, because neither is a permanent state of affairs.


In an age when manners and civility have gone the way of dressing for dinner, you begin to understand why people dressed for dinner.
